# Brand your workspace

> Give your cfo.ai workspace your company's name, logo, colors, heading typeface or font, sidebar colors, and corner shape, built by Ari from your website or set by hand. See who sees the brand, including share-link readers, link previews, emails, and downloads, how to change, copy, or remove it, and how it differs from your personal theme.

Brand your workspace when you want cfo.ai, and the Pages you share, to show your company's look: its name, logo, colors, heading typeface or font, sidebar colors, and corner shape. Everyone who opens the workspace sees the brand, and so does anyone who opens a Page you share. The fastest way to get one is to point Ari at your company's website.

**Ask Ari**

Name your website:

> Make this workspace look like yourfirm.com.

Ari reads the site's home page and stylesheets. It picks the accent color, the heading typeface, the corner shape, and the logo, then saves the brand. When the site's headings use a Google Fonts family that has Latin letters, Ari imports that font by name; otherwise it picks the nearest typeface cfo.ai offers, tells you which font the site uses, and offers to use your own font file. It chooses colors for the mode the site does not show, so the brand works in both light and dark mode. Your open app switches to the brand at once.

Ari then lists what it read from the site and what it chose. cfo.ai saves colors as given and refuses a brand whose colors would be hard to read together, naming each pair, so when a site's colors fall short Ari picks another shade and tells you which color it changed and why. If Ari cannot reach the site, it asks you for the colors and a logo file.

You can also give Ari the brand directly: attach your logo and say which colors and typeface to use. A logo must be a PNG, JPEG, or WebP image of 1 MB or less and at most 2,000 pixels wide or tall. If your site's logo is an SVG file, Ari converts it to PNG or asks you for an image file. To use your own font, attach a WOFF2 file and confirm in the chat that your license lets cfo.ai host it and show it to everyone who opens your Pages; Ari saves a font file only after that confirmation.

In **Settings → General → Brand**, typing your site in **Website address** and selecting **Build from a website** starts the same chat.

**By hand**

**1. Open the Brand section**

Open the account menu at the bottom of the sidebar, select **Settings**, and on the **General** tab find **Brand**.

**2. Start the brand**

Select **Set up by hand**. The form starts from your own theme's colors and the workspace's name.

**3. Fill in the brand**

Set the **Name**, upload a **Logo** and, if the first one is hard to see on a dark background, a **Logo for dark mode**. Under **Light mode colors** and **Dark mode colors**, enter the **Page surface**, **Panel surface**, **Text**, and **Accent** colors as hex or OKLCH values. To give the sidebar its own colors, fill in **Sidebar** and **Sidebar text** together; leave both empty to keep the page colors there. Pick a **Heading typeface** and a **Corner shape**. The preview beside the form shows the result.

**4. Save**

Select **Save**. cfo.ai saves the colors as you entered them. If a pair of colors would be hard to read together, such as a pale accent on the page color, the save is refused and the form names each pair with the contrast it reaches and the contrast it needs. Change a color and save again. The message is listed in [Settings](/reference/settings.md#brand).

**5. Add a brand font or show the brand on link previews, if you want**

These two controls appear only after the brand is saved; until then the form reads **Save the brand to use any Google font, or your own font file.** Select **Edit** in the Brand section. Under **Brand font**, type a **Google Fonts family** that has Latin letters and select **Import**, or tick the license checkbox and select **Upload a WOFF2 file**. To put the brand on your share links' preview cards, turn on **Show the brand on link previews**. Each of these applies as soon as you choose it, without **Save**.

## What a brand contains

| Part | What it is |
| - | - |
| Name | 1 to 40 characters, usually your company's name. Readers of shared Pages see it. |
| Logo | Optional. One image for light mode and an optional second one for dark mode. |
| Colors | For each of light and dark mode: the page surface, the panel surface, the text, and the accent. The accent marks selections, focus, checked checkboxes, radios, and switches, the selected tab, and the highlights in Canvas blocks. Primary buttons and links in Ari's messages take the accent only where text reads on it; otherwise buttons keep your text color and links stay blue, and the form says so. Colors are saved as you give them, as hex or OKLCH, and a pair that would be hard to read is refused. |
| Sidebar colors | Optional, as a pair: a sidebar color and a sidebar text color for each mode. The sidebar, including the drawer on a phone, takes them; without them it uses the page colors. |
| Heading typeface | Optional. **cfo.ai default**, **Source Serif**, **Newsreader**, **Fraunces**, **Zilla Slab**, or **DM Sans**. It sets Page titles, headings, and block titles; body text and numbers keep cfo.ai's own fonts. |
| Brand font | Optional, once the brand is saved: any Google Fonts family that has Latin letters, imported by name, or your own WOFF2 font file, uploaded after you confirm that your license lets cfo.ai host it and show it to everyone who opens your Pages. It takes the place of the heading typeface for headings. Size and name limits are in [Limits](/reference/limits.md#workspace-account-and-sign-in). |
| Corner shape | **Square**, **Soft** (cfo.ai's own), or **Round** |
| Chart colors | Optional, through Ari: up to three colors that replace the first chart series colors and the first three Dimension colors on tables and in a downloaded spreadsheet |

## Who sees the brand

Everyone who opens the workspace sees the brand. Pages, tables, charts, and Canvas blocks all take its look with no change to any of them. The sidebar shows your logo, or your name's first letter when there is no logo, and a **Powered by cfo.ai** line. The browser tab names your brand in place of cfo.ai and shows your logo, or the first letter of your name when the logo is more than twice as wide as it is tall, or the reverse. Each person still chooses light, dark, or automatic mode for themselves.

People who open a shared Page see it too. A reader who follows a share link sees the Page in your brand, under a strip with your logo, your name, and **Powered by cfo.ai**. The link's preview card in chat and social apps, the link's own page, and its password prompt name cfo.ai, not your brand, until an administrator turns on **Show the brand on link previews** in the Brand section; with it on, they show your brand with **Powered by cfo.ai**. See [Sharing and access](/concepts/sharing-and-access.md).

The brand also reaches what people receive from the workspace. Invitation emails come from your brand's name **via cfo.ai**, and emails Ari sends carry your name or logo; see [Invite or remove teammates](/guides/invite-teammates.md#what-the-invited-person-sees). A spreadsheet downloaded from a Page uses your text and chart colors; see [Export a Page to Excel](/guides/download-a-spreadsheet.md#what-you-get). Each of these says **Powered by cfo.ai**.

Documents Ari makes for you, such as a PDF report or a deck, use your brand's colors, heading typeface, and logo. A brand font imported from Google Fonts is embedded in them; an uploaded font is not, because its license covers your Pages only. See [Get a PDF report or slide deck](/guides/get-a-pdf-or-slides.md).

Any administrator can set or change the brand, and everyone in a workspace is an administrator.

## Change, copy, or remove the brand

To change the brand, ask Ari, such as "Use a darker accent color", or select **Edit** in **Settings → General → Brand**. A change replaces the brand as a whole, and everyone sees it at once. To go back to the earlier brand, ask Ari in the same chat to put it back; Ari keeps the brand it replaced. A brand saved before cfo.ai checked color pairs keeps working as it is, but its next save can be refused until you darken the accent.

To use the brand in your other workspaces, select **Copy to other workspaces** in the Brand section, tick the workspaces, and select the copy button. Or ask Ari, in the other workspace, to copy the brand from this one. Each copy is separate: a later change to one workspace's brand leaves the others as they are.

To remove the brand, select **Remove brand** and confirm, or ask Ari to remove it. Everyone sees their own theme again, and shared Pages lose your name and logo. Copies in other workspaces stay.

## A brand and your personal theme

A brand belongs to the workspace and everyone sees it. A theme belongs to you and changes only what you see. In a workspace with a brand, the brand replaces your theme, and **Settings → General → Appearance** says which brand the workspace uses. Your own theme still applies in your workspaces that have no brand. To set your theme, see [Change your theme, sounds, and notifications](/guides/personalize-cfoai.md).

Every label and message in the Brand section is listed in [Settings](/reference/settings.md).
