# Cancel your subscription or delete your data

> Cancel your cfo.ai free trial or subscription so you are not charged, and keep access until the end date. Also remove or replace your card, download invoices and receipts, undo a cancellation, and ask cfo.ai to delete a workspace or your account.

Cancel your free trial or subscription in **Settings → Billing** to stop being charged. You keep access until the end date. A canceled trial runs to its end date, and you are not charged. A canceled paid plan runs to the end of the term you paid for and is not charged again. If you do not cancel a trial, your paid plan starts on the day the trial ends, and cfo.ai charges your card that day.

Canceling does not delete your Model or data; they stay in the workspace. To have a workspace or your account deleted, you ask cfo.ai; see [Delete a workspace or your account](#delete-a-workspace-or-your-account).

## Cancel your subscription or trial

**1. Open Billing**

Open the account menu, your name or picture at the bottom of the sidebar, choose **Settings**, and select **Billing**.

**2. Start the cancellation**

Under **Cancel subscription**, select **Cancel**.

**3. Give a reason**

Choose one from **Select a reason**. If you choose **Other — please tell us why**, type a short explanation.

**4. Confirm**

Select **Cancel subscription**. To change your mind before confirming, select **Keep subscription**.

A notice says the plan was canceled and names the last day you keep access. Your plan or trial stays active until that day. Fees you already paid are not refunded.

You cannot pause a subscription to resume it later. Canceling is the only way to stop it; when you want cfo.ai again, choose a plan. Ari cannot cancel or change a plan for you.

## Remove or replace your card

1. Open **Settings → Billing**.
2. Under **Payment methods**, open the card's menu and select **Remove**. To swap in a new card instead, select **Replace…**.

A workspace with a plan or a trial must keep one card on file, and so must a workspace with auto-reload on. To remove your only card, add another card first. If you want to stop being charged, cancel your subscription instead; a canceled plan is not charged again. See [Plans and billing](/reference/plans-and-billing.md#payment-methods).

## Download an invoice or receipt

Open **Settings → Billing**. Under **Billing history**, select **View** on a row to open its invoice or receipt in a new tab. **View all** shows older rows.

Settings does not open while a workspace is locked, so download the invoices you need before your plan ends.

## Undo a cancellation

Any time before the last day, open **Settings → Billing** and select **Keep** followed by your plan's name. A notice reads **Cancellation reversed**, and your plan renews as usual. Choosing a plan in the plan chooser also calls the cancellation off.

## What happens when the plan ends

On the last day, the workspace locks. Administrators see the plan chooser, which reads **Choose a plan to continue**, and Ari and your Pages are unavailable until someone chooses a plan. Because the workspace has used its free trial, a new plan is charged the same day. Your connected sources stop refreshing while the workspace has no plan. Your Model and data stay in the workspace when you cancel. The Standard Terms and Conditions say that, once your agreement ends, cfo.ai keeps your data for 15 days if you paid for your first term, and may delete it after that. ## Delete a workspace or your account

cfo.ai has no delete button for a workspace or an account, and Ari cannot delete either. To have one deleted, with its data:

* Email [legal@cfo.ai](mailto:legal@cfo.ai) from the address you sign in with. Name the workspace, or say that you want your account deleted. The Terms of Use name this address for closing and deleting an account.
* For a request about your personal information only, you can also use the data request form on the [Privacy choices](https://cfo.ai/privacy-choices) page.

When cfo.ai deletes a workspace, its subscription is canceled at once and no new charges start. Past invoices and charges stay on record.
