# Teach Ari your company's conventions

> Have Ari remember your preferences and your company's terms, see and remove what it remembers, correct what it found about your company at signup, and save repeated work as a Skill.

Use this when you find yourself telling Ari the same thing twice, such as how you format tables, when your fiscal year starts, or what a term means at your company. Ari saves the fact in its memory and applies it in later chats. To learn how memory works, see [What Ari remembers](/concepts/ari-memory.md).

## Tell Ari what to remember

Say it plainly, and say who it is for:

> Remember that I prefer ending cash shown in thousands.

> For the whole workspace, remember that "Enterprise" means contracts above \$50,000 a year.

If you do not say who a fact is for, Ari decides from how you put it, and saves the fact for you alone when that is unclear. Ask Ari to confirm what it saved and whether it is yours or the workspace's.

You can give several facts in one message, or paste a page of company conventions and ask Ari to remember what is in it; Ari saves each fact it finds. For the size of a page Ari can take at once, see [Limits and file types](/reference/limits.md).

When Ari guesses wrong during a task, correct it and ask it to remember in the same message:

> Our customers pay annually up front, not monthly. Fix the revenue timing, and remember this for the whole workspace.

## See what Ari remembers

Ask:

> What do you remember about me?

> What has the workspace taught you about how we report?

Ari lists the saved facts for you, for the workspace, or both when you do not say. You can also open the account menu, your name or picture at the bottom of the sidebar, and choose **Manage memories**. It starts a new chat in which Ari lists what it remembers about you and the workspace and helps you change it.

## Change or remove a fact

To change a fact, tell Ari the new version. The new fact stays where the old one was, for you or for the workspace.

To remove a fact, ask Ari to forget it:

> Forget that I prefer quarters.

Ari removes that one fact and confirms. Forgetting a workspace fact removes it for everyone, so say which you mean when the same fact could be yours or the workspace's.

## Correct what Ari found about your company

When you sign up, cfo.ai searches public web pages for you and your company and names the workspace after the company it found. Ari posts what it found as a brief in the Welcome chat, with its sources. If it found the wrong company or got something wrong, tell Ari what is true, and save it for the workspace so every later chat uses it:

> That's not us. We're \[a bookkeeping firm for restaurants], not a cybersecurity consultancy, and we have \[12] employees. Use this instead of the research, and remember it for the whole workspace.

If the workspace has the wrong name, ask Ari to rename it:

> Rename this workspace to \[Company name].

You can also change the name in **Settings**. See [Settings](/reference/settings.md). For what the brief and its sources show, see [Chat controls and messages](/reference/chat.md#company-research-and-brief).

## Teach a process instead of a fact

Memory holds short facts. To teach Ari a process you repeat, such as how you review the month after close, save it as a Skill: a named set of instructions Ari follows whenever the task comes up. See [Save a workflow as a Skill](/guides/save-a-skill.md).

A definition that should calculate, such as how you measure churn, belongs in the Model as a Variable with a formula, so every Page and Scenario uses the same number. Ask Ari to build it there:

> Add a Churn rate Variable calculated as lost customers divided by customers at the start of the month, and use it in the revenue forecast.
