Saved facts: Ari’s memory
Ari’s memory is a short list of facts it applies without being asked, such as “show ending cash in thousands”, “our fiscal year starts in February”, or “Bookings means signed contract value”. Ari saves a fact when you ask it to remember something or when you state a lasting preference. It does not save a transcript of what you said. Each memory keeps a note of why it was saved and whose words or request it came from, and whether it was saved as one fact, taken from a longer saved note, or both, so a later chat can tell what you said from what was concluded from it. When you start a chat, Ari searches the saved facts that match your first message and uses them. That is how a preference you stated last week reaches a chat you start today. Later in the same chat, Ari does not search memory on every message; it looks again when it decides a message needs it, or when you ask it to check what it remembers. Two kinds of memory: yours and the workspace’s
Every saved fact lives in one of two places:
When Ari reads memory in a chat, the activity line names the list it searched: Your private memories or Workspace memories.
Ari decides where a fact belongs from how you put it. When that is unclear, the fact is saved as a private memory, so a personal preference never spreads to your team by mistake. Say “for the whole workspace” when a fact is about the company.
Your private memories belong to you in one workspace. Another workspace where you are a member has its own list, so a preference you teach Ari in one does not follow you to the other.
A fact never moves between the two lists on its own. When a newer fact replaces an older one, it stays where the older one was. Any member can correct or forget a workspace fact, and forgetting one removes it for everyone.
To save, list, or remove facts, see Teach Ari your company’s conventions.
Memory is separate from chat history
Ari can also look back at your earlier chats, which is different from memory. Memory is the short list Ari applies every time. Chat history is a record Ari reads only when it needs to, for example when you say “use the churn definition we agreed on last week”. Ari sees each of your chats under the name shown in your chat list, including a name you gave it, so naming a chat after what it settled helps Ari find it later. Ari reads only your own chats, never a teammate’s. Archiving a chat keeps its messages and files, so Ari can still read it.Files from your other chats
A chat can read the files you attached in your other chats in the same workspace, and the files Ari made for you there. Ask for a file by name, and Ari finds the chat that holds it. For each file, Ari sees its name, the chat it is in, when it arrived, and whether a CSV was sent as a Data source. That lets it tell two files with the same name apart. Ari cannot read files in a teammate’s chats. See Attach files to a chat.Where other things are kept
Some things you tell Ari are saved as settings or as work in the Model, not as memory:- Brand colors, a logo, and a heading typeface or font are saved as the workspace brand, which everyone who opens the workspace sees. See Brand your workspace.
- Your own color theme is saved to your account and applies only to you, in your workspaces that have no brand. See Change your theme, sounds, and notifications.
- A process you repeat, such as your month-end review, is saved as a Skill, with instructions Ari follows each time. A Skill is yours, not the workspace’s: it goes with you to every workspace where you are a member unless you limit it to one. See Save a workflow as a Skill.
- Numbers and definitions that should calculate, such as a churn rate, belong in the Model as Variables and formulas, where every Page can use them.
