Your workspace
Workspace
Your company’s home in cfo.ai. A workspace contains its financial Model, Pages, Scenarios, connected sources, team, and settings.
Ari
Your AI finance coworker. Ari can answer business questions, explain the supporting data, and build or update a Model you can inspect and change.
Model
A shared, living representation of how your business changes over time. It combines connected data, Variables, Dimensions, formulas, assumptions, and Scenarios that you and Ari can inspect.
Integration
A connection that brings data from another system, such as accounting software, an HR platform, a spreadsheet, or a database, into cfo.ai.
Database
A structured collection of source records organized into rows and columns.
Pages and reports
Page
A canvas that organizes related Table Blocks, charts, and written context into a report or working view.
Table Block
A live, spreadsheet-like grid that shows Variables across time and lets you inspect, edit, segment, and compare their values.
Modeling concepts
Variable
A named line of your Model, such as Revenue, Headcount, Cash, or Gross Margin. Its values can be imported, entered, or calculated.
Dimension
A category used to group, filter, or segment a Variable, such as Department, Region, Customer, Product, or Date.
Dimension item
One entry within a Dimension. For example, Sales is an item in Department, and West is an item in Region.
Segment
A slice of a Variable’s data identified by one or more Dimension items, such as Revenue for Sales or Revenue for Sales in the West.
Cell address
The complete identity of one Model value: its Variable, one item from each applicable Dimension, and its time period.
Formula
A calculation that determines a Variable’s value. Its expression says what to calculate, and its scope says where the calculation applies.
Formula range
A span of the timeline that can use its own formula. Actuals and Forecast are common formula ranges.
Last close
The date that separates closed Actuals from the Forecast. Updating Last close moves that boundary without rewriting your formulas.
Scenario
A version of your Model used to explore an alternative plan or compare possible outcomes. Main is the primary working Scenario.
Snapshot
A read-only copy of a Scenario at a specific point in time. Use a Snapshot to preserve a submitted plan or a board-reporting baseline.
Automation
Skill
A reusable workflow that teaches Ari how your team approaches a recurring kind of work.
Trigger
A scheduled instruction that asks Ari to run a recurring task at the time you choose.
Guide
An interactive walkthrough that highlights Pages, blocks, or cells and explains what someone should notice.
