Ari can turn a business rule into a saved Variable formula.

Start with a clear request

A complete request names the target Variable and calculation:
Set Gross Profit to Revenue minus Cost of Goods Sold.
Add context only when it changes where the formula should apply.

Choose the scope

Default formula:
Use this calculation for Gross Profit everywhere.
Formula for a Dimension:
When Payroll is broken down by Department, calculate it as Headcount times Average Salary.
Segment formula:
For the Sales department, calculate Commission as Revenue times Commission Rate.
Ari uses the visible Table Block and Dimension items to resolve the correct formula scope.

Choose the formula range

Use imported Payroll for Actuals and Headcount times Average Salary for Forecast.
Formula-range rules must be scoped by Date. Ari can derive the correct range from the visible table target or explain why the target does not support the requested range.

Choose the scenario

Make this change in the Plan scenario.
If you do not name a Scenario, Ari uses the current context. Include the Scenario when a change could otherwise land in the wrong place.

Validate before writing

For an extra review step, ask:
Draft and validate this formula, but do not save it yet.
When you are ready:
Save the validated formula and check the result in the P&L table.
Ari can validate supported writes without applying them. When you approve the saved change, ask Ari to verify the resulting values in the relevant Table Block.
