Refresh a connection now
There is no Sync now button. Ask Ari:Refresh QuickBooks and tell me when the import has finished.A line above the message box reads Syncing with the connection’s name. Select it to see the sync’s two steps, Sync source data and Run saved queries, with View connection and Stop. You can keep working. When the sync finishes or fails, Ari tells you in the same chat. A refresh reruns the connection’s saved queries as they are. If the refresh brings in a table nothing reads yet, ask Ari for a saved query over it.
Stop a running sync
Select the Syncing line above the message box, then Stop. The connection reads Stopped, with This sync was stopped before it finished. Nothing broke, and the data from the last finished sync stays. Select Retry on the connection when you want to run it again.Re-import past months
The nightly refresh does not always re-read your whole history. QuickBooks Online re-reads the last three months, so a correction to an older month reaches cfo.ai only when you re-import the full history. Xero re-reads its whole range every night. Sources that sync through Fivetran keep each table’s full history. To re-import QuickBooks Online or Xero, ask Ari:I corrected last year’s books in QuickBooks. Re-import the full history. To reach further back than January 1 of last year, name the first year, 2015 or later:
Re-import QuickBooks’ full history from 2021.The months a full-history import brings in stay through later refreshes. A full-history import is slower than a routine refresh.
Change when a connection refreshes
All connections refresh in a shared nightly run that starts at 02:00 UTC, which is 7 PM Pacific the evening before during daylight saving time. If a source publishes the day’s data after that, give the connection its own time:Refresh QuickBooks at 6:30 AM Pacific every day.Ari saves the time and time zone on the connection. From the next nightly run, the connection refreshes once a day at that time and reruns its saved queries when the refresh finishes. A time you set this morning takes effect tomorrow. To return the connection to the shared run, ask Ari to clear its refresh time. Ari tells you each connection’s refresh time when you ask about your connections.
Sources that refresh differently
- CSV uploads never refresh. Upload the new version; see Upload a CSV as a data source.
- Google Sheets and Google Drive files are re-read every night, and when you ask Ari. An unchanged file starts no update.
- MCP servers and APIs are called live when Ari needs them. A sync setup Ari saved for one refreshes nightly like an integration, and can take its own time.
