Use these settings when your plan’s included AI usage runs low or runs out and you want Ari to keep working. You can buy extra usage, which Settings calls credits. Buy it once, or have cfo.ai buy it automatically with auto-reload, and cap what it can cost each month with a spend limit. Extra usage is used only after your plan’s included usage for the month is gone. For what uses AI usage, see Plans, AI usage, and connection slots.

Check how much usage is left

Open the account menu, your name or picture at the bottom of the sidebar, choose Settings, and select Usage. Included plan usage shows how much of this cycle’s usage is used and the date it resets. You can also ask Ari, for example “How much of our AI usage is left this month?” As usage runs low, a notice above the message box in your chats says how much is left, such as 50% of your workspace’s monthly AI usage remains.

Buy usage

1

Open Buy credits

In Settings → Usage, under Extra usage, select Buy credits.
2

Choose an amount

Pick $100, $250, or $1,000, or select Other and type a whole-dollar amount.
3

Choose how to pay

Your default payment method is selected. Pick another saved card, or select Use a new payment method to add one here.
4

Pay

Select Pay followed by the amount and now. A notice reads Added [amount] of usage.
When Ari has stopped because usage ran out, the panel above the message box in your chat also offers to buy usage, such as Add $100. Purchased usage stays in your balance until Ari uses it; it does not reset each month.

Set a monthly spend limit

A spend limit caps what extra usage can cost in one billing cycle, whether you buy it or auto-reload does.
1

Open the limit

In Settings → Usage, next to Monthly spend limit, select Adjust limit.
2

Set the amount

Type the most extra usage may cost per month and select Save. The limit takes effect right away. To remove it, select Remove limit.
A purchase that would go over the limit is refused or reduced to fit, and Ari stops when the limit is reached. Raise the limit to keep going.

Turn on auto-reload

Auto-reload buys more usage for you when your balance falls below an amount you choose, so Ari keeps working without stopping. It charges your default payment method, so add one in Settings → Billing first.
1

Turn it on

In Settings → Usage, under Extra usage, turn on Auto-reload.
2

Set when and how much

The line reads When the balance falls below [amount], add [amount]. Enter the balance that starts a reload, such as $10, and how much each reload adds, such as $100.
3

Save

Select Save. The balance line reads Auto-reload on.
To stop it, turn Auto-reload off. If a reload payment fails, auto-reload pauses and the balance line reads Auto-reload paused. It starts again after you update your payment method in Settings → Billing or buy credits.

When usage runs out

When the workspace has no usage left, Ari stops at its next step and explains why in the chat, in a message that starts I had to stop here. Your Pages, data, and the work Ari already saved stay as they are, and connected data keeps syncing. Fix the cause, such as buying usage or raising the spend limit, then send a new message; Ari picks up where it left off. For every stop message, see Chat controls and messages. During a free trial, using up the trial’s included usage also lets you start your paid plan early, which resets your included usage; see Start your paid plan before the trial ends.
